The St. Joseph’s Prep and La Salle football teams will wear pink in support of the Kelly Rooney Foundation (KRF), which raises money for breast cancer research. Rooney is the late wife of Sean Rooney, a 1980 graduate of the Prep, and daughter of “Obie” O’Brien, a 1956 graduate of La Salle and the son of a longtime La Salle coach. Rooney and O’Brien will represent each team as honorary captains at the coin toss.

The Prep players ...will be wearing pink socks and some will have pink gloves, pink wristbands. La Salle will be wearing pink wrist bands. Both teams will be given KRF T-shirts to be worn beneath their uniforms and both teams will have a KRF logo on their helmets with “Prep” above and “La Salle” below the logo.

Rooney Foundation and Save Second Base t-shirts will be sold at the game. Pink footballs and rally towels will be distributed on game night. One dollar from each ticket will be donated to the Kelly Rooney Foundation. La Salle will be making a contribution to the KRF in the name of a teacher’s wife who passed from Breast Cancer and the Prep will be making a donation as well
